For the last six years at Citrix, Gary toiled almost exclusively on the Citrix XenMobile, a comprehensive enterprise mobility management (EMM) platform available in both customer deployed and cloud-delivered variants. Gary lead the five person investigational team that built the original iOS app SDK which became the basis of a new mobile app management system. Over the next five years, that small beginning grew into a complete EMM solution adding network gateway/VPN, mobile device management, and enterprise productivity apps for iOS, Android, and Windows, always with a keen focus on security. During this period, EMM product revenues experienced 100%+ year‑on‑year growth for four consecutive years. At the same time, the development team grew to over 250 engineers spanning four global sites. For the last two years, Gary was the architecture lead for the XenMobile product reporting to VP of Cloud Engineering. During that period, he shepherded the EMM product through two significant transitions. The first was a transition from on premise customer managed deployments to cloud-delivered SaaS solution deployed in AWS and Azure and managed by Citrix itself. The second was the engineering culture shift from quarterly deliveries to a short-cycle iterative development/deployment cycle with an evergreen operational focus.
Gary received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University in 1985. In that same year, he married his longtime girlfriend Susan and they moved to South Florida where they have lived ever since. They are blessed with three children.
In his leisure time, Gary enjoys golf and coaching youth sports. He has also been an FHSAA certified football official for over 30 years and continues to spend Friday nights in the fall trying to avoid being run over at various high school football contests.
